"The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest is the sorta isekai-adjacent fantasy anime that you get when a writer designs a magic system and... that's it."

[Interesting discussion of magic systems that's worth watching if you care about such things. -ed.]

Rating: I give it two back alley bins full of soggy, slightly stale crackers and white bread, plus a few stat tables torn out of a Final Fantasy strategy guide.

Rating: If the first season of Shield Hero was three dumpsters full of flaming Bud Light boxes, then season 2 is all that plus one budget fur suit trash-compacted into a small, inert cube of dull gray aluminum and then placed inside an equally dull gray aluminum trash can.

"You know what, this whole anime's stupid. It's just a dumber, hornier, exponentially boringer Misfit of Demon King Academy."

Rating: I give it four industrial waste skips full of a complete printed list in 8 point font of all the things what would have been a better use of my time, lightly smoldering.

"So if you're concerned that you'd be confused jumping into a sequel instead of starting with the original, you are absolutely right to be."

"The story here is pretty much irrelevant, but for what it's worth, it is also hilariously over the top."

Rating: I give Shin Ikkitousen four wastepaper baskets full of crumpled, blood-stained tissues and panties, burning with an aura of ferocious fighting intensity, but no actual fire because there are waaay to many fluids in there for that to be physically possible.

[This show is also included in the Mother's Basement Worst Anime of 2022 as the #1 and #2 worst of the year. MB really seems to want to hate on this anime and bemoan the fact that the mangaka for the source material for this show, Satoshi Mizukami, is so poorly served by this adaptation. -ed.]

"Yeah, Rein immediately lands in a new party full of badass beast girl supermodels whose favorite hobby is validating him and gets better stats than all the bullies at schoo... in his old party."

"It's waifus may not be that naked but at the end of the day, Beast Tamer is still just as much of a juvenile male power fantasy as any half-baked battle harem you can name."

Rating: I award Beast Tamer one Build-a-Bear bin full of fire retardant fluff and kitty cat plushies with a gap the exact size and shape of your body in the fetal position right in the middle of the pile.

"The characters are blandly enjoyable in a classic Lays potato chip sorta way."

Rating: I give Shinobi no Ittoki one business park dumpster full of ninja W-2s and ninja fax machines which might start some sort of ninja electrical fire at some point but right now it really doesn't seem likely.
