Last year Naturopath and Master Herbalist Lee Wellard was at our camp meeting running herbal workshops. These were a big success, and everyone had such a great time that we decided to have him here again this year and do another one.

Dr. Lee will be focusing on making herbal extracts and herbal salves. All herbal equipment and supplies will be provided so there is a cost involved in attending this workshop.

If you are interested in coming to this hands-on workshop, we advise that you sign up soon to secure your seat as availability is limited.

Camping and RVs

Tent Camping

  • Cost: tent camping is free

  • Sites: camping is permitted (and encouraged!) on-site at West Salem Mission. Sites are located along the back side of the pond, in the woods, along tree lines. There are no developed sites, just grass and woods. Tents are allowed anywhere within those specified areas. If you have a question, please ask a volunteer where you may camp.

  • Electric & Water: there are no electric or water hookups in the camping area. Potable water is available from hydrants located near the barn. Electrical outlets are available in the red barn for charging personal items.

  • Equipment: you must bring your own camping equipment, such as tent, sleeping bag, tarp, etc. The West Salem Mission does not provide camping equipment. Rains can be very heavy sometimes and we encourage you to bring a tarp.

  • Campfires: personal cookstoves are permitted, but campfires are not allowed.

  • Pets: in consideration of all our attendees, pets are not allowed on the property.

  • Bathrooms & Showers: porta-johns are on-site, along with hand-washing stations. Showers are available in a portable shower trailer.

  • We want you to be comfortable! If you have any questions, please email or call (email generally receives a quicker response). Phone 567-334-1080. Email: office@westsalemmission.org.

RV, Camper Trailer, Camper

  • Our facilities are unable to accommodate RVs, campers, and trailers. We have two sites for RVs but they are not designated for public use. We apologize for the inconvenience.

  • There are several campgrounds within 15-30 minutes of West Salem Mission which allow RVs and trailers. We recommend Hidden Acres, (419) 853-4687. 107 Township Road, West Salem, OH 44287.
